If you subscribe to the newsletter, we store your email address, the date you subscribed, and which page you subscribed from. If you choose to tell us your role, we store that too.

If you submit a story or contact us, we store what you send, plus your name and email unless you ask to be anonymous.

We record aggregate page views — which stories are read, what device, and a referring site where the browser sends one. We do not build personal profiles and we do not sell data.

To send you the newsletter you asked for, to reply to you, to decide what to publish next, and to report aggregate readership to advertisers as totals, never as individual records.

We do not sell, rent or share subscriber lists. We do not add newsletter subscribers to any other list.

We use a small amount of browser storage to avoid counting the same story view repeatedly in one session. If you connect Google Analytics or another analytics service to this site, that provider's own policy applies to the data it collects.

Every newsletter includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from future sends. You can ask us to delete any record we hold about you by writing to the address on our contact page.

This site runs on Base44, which hosts the application and its database. Email delivery is handled by the provider named in our newsletter footer. Those providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own marketing.
